The accident occurred about 2 a.m., Friday, Feb. 7, on the southbound Saw Mill River Parkway in Bedford at Harris Road, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police.
The 2002 Ford Focus left the roadway, striking a guide rail adjacent to the right lane of travel, O'Leary said.
That impact caused the vehicle to re-enter the southbound lanes of travel, flip over, strike another guide rail adjacent to the left lane of travel and go down the embankment. The driver was ejected from the vehicle, O'Leary said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Westchester County Police Accident Investigation/Reconstruction Unit.
